Random Number Generator
Free random number generator. Pick one or many random integers in any range, with or without duplicates — perfect for draws, raffles and sampling.
About the Random Number Generator
This generator picks integers inside any range you choose, using crypto.getRandomValues() — the browser's cryptographic-quality random source — with rejection sampling so every number in the range is exactly equally likely. That makes it suitable for raffles, giveaways, classroom picks, sampling data and games.
Random vs. unique
With duplicates allowed, each draw is independent — rolling "3" twice in a row is normal. With "no duplicates" enabled, the generator works like a hat full of numbered slips: each number can only come out once, which is exactly what fair raffles and lottery-style draws require.
For very large ranges the tool handles big integers safely, and up to 1000 numbers per draw. Results can be sorted for readability and copied in one click.
Frequently asked questions
Is this generator truly random?
It uses the browser’s cryptographically secure random source, which is seeded from the operating system’s entropy pool. For raffles, draws and simulations it is at least as fair as any physical method — far fairer than dice or a hat.
Can I use it for a raffle or giveaway?
Yes. Enter the ticket range (e.g., 1 to 500), enable "no duplicates", and draw as many winners as you need. Because duplicates are excluded, two people can never win the same draw slot.
What is the difference between random and pseudorandom?
Computers cannot produce pure randomness, so they use deterministic algorithms seeded with unpredictable entropy. Cryptographic generators like the one used here are unpredictable in every practical sense.
Why do I see patterns when I allow duplicates?
True randomness includes streaks and clusters — five coin flips producing four heads is not suspicious. Our intuitions expect "evenly spread" results, which is actually a sign of a broken generator.
